Small Luxury SUV Sales And Midsize Luxury SUV Sales In Canada - July 2011

2011 Mercedes-Benz R-Class
There were 2308 smallerish luxury utility buyers to go around in Canada in July 2011. 29.5% of those buyers opted for a BMW. In all, 71% of those buyers chose something European. Problem is, apart from the all-new BMW X1 and the fast-rising BMW X3, things sucked.

The Acura RDX was down 3.9%. Cadillac SRX sales slid 20.1%. The class-leading Mercedes-Benz GLK fell three units, or 0.6%, to 478. Sales of the Volvo XC60 plunged 25.6%. The Land Rover LR2 was down 30.3%. The aging Infiniti EX was down 12.1%. The Good 12-winning Audi Q5 suffered a 13.8% decline.

July 2011's fourth-best-selling, fifth-best-selling, eighth-best-selling, 12th-best-selling, and 21st-best-selling luxury vehicles in Canada are in the chart below. The segment-leading Lexus RX was down 33% year-over-year. Next up, the Acura MDX slid 18%. Lincoln MKX sales rose 32.7%. The BMW X5 was up 5.6%.

There's one vehicle GoodCarBadCar.net doesn't place in this chart or any other. It's really awfully terribly ugly, so that hurts its chances. It's also about as unclassifiable as any vehicle on sale today. Sales of the Mercedes-Benz R-Class jumped 150% to 55 in July.
