The BMW 3-Series is not accustomed to losing. Not in Car And Driver comparison tests, not in the number of TV lawyers who choose to drive a small luxury car, not in monthly U.S. sales totals.
2012 has been different. Although the 3-Series, through eight months, is the best-selling luxury brand vehicle in the United States, there've been some rough months. 3-Series sales dropped 29% in August, for example, and four vehicles from Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, and Infiniti sold more often than the 3er. Three of those vehicles were passenger cars, including the not-quite-as-yawntastic-as-it-used-to-be Lexus ES, the dynamic Infiniti G, and the prestigious but small C-Class Benz.
GCBC Has Added The Audi A5/S5 Range (S5 Coupe Pictured) To The Small/Entry Luxury Car Sales Chart In Order To Better Show Audi Sales As They Compare With The 3-Series, C-Class, And Infiniti G, Sales Of Which All Include Multiple Bodystyles. The A5 Will Still Be Displayed In The Sporty Car/Luxury Sporty Car Sales Table Along With The G37 Coupe/Convertible |
