Five of Canada's 30 best-selling vehicles in September 2012 were Ford Motor Company products. General Motors landed four vehicles in the top 30. Another four of the 30 were Toyotas, four came from the Chrysler Group, two were Volkswagens, and two more were Hondas. The 3, 3-Series, and Versa helped Mazda, BMW, and Nissan find their way. Finally, there were three Hyundais and three Kias.
Bizarrely, the Kias are squished together from positions 24 to 26. Hyundai builds Canada's second-best-selling passenger car nameplate, as well as the 17th and 18th-ranked automobiles.
Ahead of the Elantra are two pickup trucks, both of which suffered significant year-over-year declines in September, and the Honda Civic. Civic sales shot up 22% in September 2012 and are up 28% this year.
There's only one minivan in Canada's top 30, Dodge's seventh-ranked Grand Caravan. The Honda Odyssey was Canada's 36th-best-selling nameplate in September.
