Ford F-Series sales slid 8% in August but the Ford's year-to-date lead over its closest rival expanded by 3855 sales to 22,301. In other words, the Ford's lead over the number two truck is about equal to the total sales put together by the Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra, and Nissan Titan. Yowzah.
Sales of the Dodge Ram (or Ram Pickup, or whatever you choose to call it) also slid, but only by 31 units. It's also worth pointing out that GM's two full-size trucks, the GMC Sierra (+14%) and Chevrolet Silverado (-10%), combined for 8298 August sales and 57,070 sales in the first eight months of this year.
5.9% of all new vehicles sold in 2011 have been Ford F-Series pickups. If its 8805-unit August lead over the Nissan Titan isn't enough to convince you that Detroit's full-size trucks are winners and Japanese full-size trucks are losers, the Titan's 0.16% market share.
Canada's complete truck sales chart will be published in the coming days. For now, these are the Top 10 Best-Selling Trucks In Canada for August 2011.
