The Canadian new vehicle market dropped by 4.2% in February 2011, a slide reflected quite apparently in sales of Ford, Toyota, Chevrolet, and Honda products. General Motors' two largest volume brands suffered while Cadillac and Buick improved on February 2010's totals. The best-selling luxury brand in Canada in February 2011 was Mercedes-Benz, but sales hardly proceeded northward - without the Sprinter sales actually fell.
Somehow Saab Canada sales dropped 81.8% from just one month ago. Chrysler sales are in free fall mode. Inside the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep family, only 7% of all sales were cars. Like Chrysler, Suzuki lost half its sales and plummeted to 26th from 23rd spot in January 2011. Rising gas prices help smart sales? Er, no.
Welcome good news comes from the entrance of Fiat. Late in February Fiat Canada sold 9 500s, a Good 12 winner. Good news is also readily apparent at Hyundai. Sitting pretty in third spot overall, Hyundai made the Elantra Canada's best-selling car for a second consecutive month.
37 automakers are listed in the Canada Auto Sales By Brand table below. Pagani is not one of them.
