Top 10 Best-Selling SUVs In Canada - October 2010

On the surface, it seems obvious that sliding Honda CR-V sales aren't attributable to increased competitiveness in the small SUV/CUV segment but to the month of September being a clearance month on the 2010 Honda CR-V. After all, CR-V sales in October were up 20.7% compared with October 2009.

Nevertheless, it is the Hyundai Santa Fe that is #2 both in Canada's October sales rundown and year-to-date. Through the end of October, the CR-V trailed the Santa Fe by 2140 units. Far away in the distance at #1 is the Ford Escape, as usual. There are ten different brands represented in October's Top 10 Best-Selling SUVs list, seven different overarching companies if you prefer to see it that way, and a whole bunch of rivals. You could say, for all intents and purposes, other than the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2011 Ford Edge, these SUVs and crossovers compete directly against one another. Expect to see sales of the #3 utility vehicle improve when the more powerful, more comfortable 2011 Dodge Journey arrives at dealers.
