Minivan Sales In America - October 2010

In an attempt to make the minivan segment a less vital part of its portfolio yet more successful at the same time, the 2011 Honda Odyssey isn't all-new, but it is remarkably different and at least as competitive as the 2010 Honda Odyssey. With its first month on the board, or rather the pie chart, the 2011 Odyssey beat the Swagger Wagon, aka the 2011 Toyota Sienna, by 702 units. The Odyssey was American Honda's fourth-best-selling vehicle in October 2010, despite The Good Car Guy's criticism of its sliding door track . Fifth among Toyotas in America was the Swagger Wagon.

Of course, all of this should be taken in the context of the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan. Chrysler minivan sales totalled close to 17,000 in October 2010; the Town & Country was Chrysler's best-seller with 8459 buyers. Dodge Grand Caravan sales were close behind with 8204 units sold.
