June 2012 Large Car Sales Chart |
Strong as the Accord was in June, the Toyota Camry was able to fend off its Japanese challengers - and its American rivals - last month. One year ago the Chevrolet Cruze was America's best-selling car. A month before the leader was Chevy's Malibu. Now the new Malibu is taking over while deals on the old car helped drive sales upward in June. The Camry, Accord, Malibu are just a sampling of how strong the midsize segment was in June; how strong it's been all year. Of the 17 cars which have posted improved sales, the average year-over-year YTD gain now stands at 1512%. Not that that's skewed by the Volkswagen Passat or anything.
