BMW's 3-Series Now Trails The Mercedes
C-Class 762 Canadian Sales Going Into June

Canadian BMW 3-Series sales continue to fall, opening up more opportunities for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class to win monthly titles as the best-selling premium brand automobile in Canada. For the ninth time in the last twelve months, 3-Series sales failed to rise as high as they had a year earlier. The 3-Series was down 13% in Canada in May 2012.

After the C-Class and 3-Series, the following nine best-selling luxury vehicles in Canada are utility vehicles of one kind or another. From the BMW X1 to the Lincoln MKX, 72% of the Canadian sales volume collected by the eleven best-selling luxury vehicles in Canada was SUV/CUV-derived. 

Last month the Canadian automobile market grew 18% compared with May 2011. 23 of the 29 best-selling luxury vehicles eligible to report a year-over-year increase did so. In just its second month on sale, the Infiniti JX35 found 398 buyers in May, enough to outsell the BMW X5, Cadillac SRX, and Volkswagen Touareg.
