SMALL LUXURY SUV SALES IN CANADA - JUNE 2010

Maybe Canadians like their small luxury utility vehicles with an added dose of butch. Perhaps we're extra keen on European luxury, not the sort that comes across the border from the States. Whatever the reason, GM's brand-spankin new Cadillac SRX is just doing alright in Canada even though Americans are scooping up SRXs like they're a limited time offer.

Canadians, however, still prefer the Mercedes-Benz GLK350 4Matic. Doubling your competitors sales isn't easy in the automotive biz, particularly when the segment is known to be fiercely competitive and fast-growing. Yet Mercedes-Benz GLK sales topped 3,000 in the first half of 2010; no other luxury SUV in the Graph below has yet reached the 1,700 sale plateau. Canadian sales of small luxury SUVs in June are below.
