HANDFUL OF 2009 NISSAN ALTIMAS RECALLED - ALREADY COMPLETE

A very few MY2009 Nissan Altimas have been recalled, NHTSA says, because they were "manufactured with an out-of-specification weld on the door assembly". Straight up, this Recall has already taken place. Nissan sent 225 examples of their '09 Altima back to the factory where the issue was remedied. NHTSA's notice to the public, and GoodCarBadCar.net's further pronouncement, are just explanations of history now.

The specific motor vehicle safety standard was #214: side impact protection. '07 and '08 Altimas were part of a Nissan Recall relating to non-deploying airbags. Prior to that, the '09 Altima had been recalled for sucky 16" wheels. Not long before that, the some '08 Altimas were brought back for a loosening bolt in the suspension assembly. Some '02, '05, and '06 Altimas needed ECU reprogramming at dealerships, too. I'm just sayin'.
