BMW sold 700 3-Series sedans, coupes, wagons, and convertibles in Canada in January 2012. This is a fairly good figure (even if it was incentive-driven) given the fact that the new 3-Series sedan was just about to arrive.
Sales of the Cadillac CTS, Volvo C30, and Lexus HS250h all plunged with year-over-year drops worse than 30%. The 3-Series' increase was actually among the best in the smallerish luxury car category, but Mercedes-Benz C-Class sales jumped 53% and the Acura TSX was up 59%.
The TSX still trails the Acura TL by a mile in terms of Canadian popularity. After the jump you'll see specific sales data for 33 premium passenger cars. One eye-catching statistic relates to the Acura TL, sales of which jumped 155% to 222 units. Admittedly, the TL is significantly cheaper than both the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but it did prove to be beyond significantly more popular in January.
