COMPACT LUXURY CAR SALES AND SMALL LUXURY CAR SALES IN AMERICA - JUNE 2010

Joining the Lexus HS in the first Graph below will soon be another Lexus, the CT200h. Early reviews say the CT200h will be significantly sportier, perhaps the sportiest Lexus this side of an IS350. We shall see. Its hatchback configuration would certainly make it a practical alternative to the HS. For now, Lexus can be satisified that its HS is out-selling less-expensive opposition from Germany's BMW and Audi and Sweden's Volvo.

In the slightly larger, slightly more expensive arena dominated by the BMW 3-Series, Lexus has more of a fight on its hands. Ranked sixth, the Lexus IS can't seem to engender the sort of love people have for the boring Lexus ES, a Toyota Camry-based midsizer. Cadillac's CTS uses bold American style to beat the Lexus. The Infiniti G37 is a better performance bargan. The Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, and Mercedes C-Class are... well, German. But they're also very good at what they do; combining style, substance, and performance for a reasonable price. June 2010 Sales Stats for compact luxury cars and small/entry luxury cars are below.
