CAW STRIKES AGREEMENT WITH GM AND CHRYSLER

The Canadian Auto Workers, led by Buzz Hargrove, have reached a tentative agreement with General Motors and Chrysler. The GM highlights include:

  1. wage freezing for three years for the 13,000 CAWorkers in southern Ontario
  2. rotating layoffs with two weeks on/two weeks off
  3. retirement incentives and buyouts for the workers involved with the Windsor transmission plant
