QUESTIONS FOR THE GOOD CAR GUY

An expression of inquiry that invites or calls for a reply. An interrogative sentence, phrase, or gesture. A proposition brought up for consideration by an assembly. Question.

The following inquiries have come into GoodCarBadCar.net in 2008.
-----

IS A SAAB A GOOD CAR? Nothing like generalizing, eh. True enough, with Saab's slimline model lineup, generalizing may not be so difficult.  If the questioner(s) are using 'good' in the GoodCarBadCar definition, then they're equating 'good' with 'I-wanna-buy'.  In this instance..... no, Saab's are not good.  Most 9-5s and 9-3s send way too much power to the front wheels and make use of (espeically 9-5s) ancient architecture that limits their all-around ability. The 9-7x Aero (test driven by The Good Car Guy here) has appeal under the hood, but buying one would be like buying a white HP laptop with a banana on the cover because it reminded you of a MacBook. It's not the genuine article, most Saab's aren't, but; to be true, pulled away from such amazing competition, the Saab's wouldn't look terrible at all.  Plus, you can await the 9-1 with a good measure of interest.

IS A BMW M3 A GOOD CAR? See the above response for a better understanding of 'good'. The strictly opinionated answer from GoodCarBadCar would steer you toward an Audi RS4 for two reasons: the new M3 looks a little soft and it's the generic cut-price supercar. The strictly honest answer is: yes, the BMW M3 is a wickedly awesome good car.

IS THE YARIS A GOOD CAR? Toyota's Yaris can be had in a variety of configurations the world over, so we're forced to generalize this answer.  The Good Car Guy's test drive of the Yaris should help explain more thoroughly; but to be brief, the Yaris is exactly what it should be, minus barrel loads of fun.  The fun quotient is what puts the Honda Fit over the top and into The Good 12 and keeps the Yaris as a recommended purchase to all who consider it.

ARE BUICK'S A GOOD CAR? Some recent Buick's have been built at North America's best automotive manufacturing plant.  And.... I don't rightly care. Recent GoodCarBadCar posts include a Buick Lucerne Super Lowdown, but you ought to go further back to the Enclave test drive. It's the only Buick vehicle worth getting excited over. Therefore, in The Good Car Guy's eyes, the only good Buick.

ARE CARS GOOD OR BAD?  I suspect there's a degree of deep philosophical importance here.  Which I'll ignore.  I'm gonna go out on a limb and say.... YES.
