Luxury Auto Brand Market Share In Canada - February 2012

Mercedes-Benz Logo Badge
57% of Canada's premium brand new vehicle sales went the way of the big German trio in February 2012. Very nearly one quarter of these luxury car sales belonged to Mercedes-Benz.

Of course, 7% of those Benz sales are Sprinters - commercial vans, rivals of the Ford E-Series, Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana, and Nissan NV. Even without those Sprinter sales, Mercedes-Benz out-sold BMW by 313 sales in February. As a whole, Mercedes-Benz came awfully close to out-selling Acura, Lexus, and Infiniti combined, falling short by just a hundred sales.

All these manufacturers were already ranked by total February volume in the Canada Auto Sales By Brand post. Mercedes-Benz, tops among luxury brands, ranked 14th overall, 455 sales behind Jeep; 417 sales ahead of Subaru.

Mercedes-Benz's two best-selling models were Canada's two best-selling luxury nameplates in February. You can find monthly and yearly sales data for those cars and every other vehicle currently on sale in North America by accessing the dropdown menu at the top right of this page or on GoodCarBadCar's Sales Stats home.
