Truck Sales In America - August 2011

2012 Toyota Tacoma Front End
84% of the pickup trucks sold in the United States in August were full-size behemoths capable of driving over the hood of your midsize sedan.

That may be an exaggeration. The "hood of your sedan" part; not the 84% figure.

85% of all the pickup trucks sold in the United States in August 2011 wore Detroit Three badges on their grilles. 35% of all trucks sold were Fords. 36% of all trucks sold were General Motors products. A couple weeks ago The Good Car Guy made very clear to readers that GM's two full-size twins, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, out-sold the Ford F-Series in August. 14% of all pickup trucks sold were Dodges or Rams or whatever they are. 10% of truck sales occurred in Toyota showrooms. The Tacoma led the way for Toyota. 60% of all Tacomas sold were of the 4x4 variety.
