Rarely does one see 10,283% year-over-year increases in the sale of any product. But at this time last year, Kia Canada was reporting Sorento sales of just 12 units in November 2009. This year, sales are up. Dreamland Sales Stats would have Ford Escape sales jumping to 246,596 if a similar increase were posted by the Blue Oval.
Kia's gains shouldn't hold back your praise for other automakers which have found more buyers this year than last, even if their year-over-year gains are not as stunning as Kia's. Ford Escape sales were up 26.1% in November. Sales of the Dodge Journey were up 31.3%. The all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was up 120.6%. The Chevrolet Equinox posted gains of 86%.
Speaking of the Equinox: if The Good Car Guy were so kind as to combine the Equinox's sales figures with the GMC Terrain's 921 sales, General Motors would be sitting in second spot instead of fourth. As it stands now, year-to-date data for Canada's best-selling SUVs has the Ford Escape ahead of the Hyundai Santa Fe by 13,197 sales. GM has sold 26,401 copies of their Equinox/Terrain tandem, 106 fewer buyers than Hyundai has found found for the Santa Fe.
These are November 2010's ten best-selling utility vehicles in Canada.
