*updated 07/10/10*
GoodCarBadCar.net is displaying the monthly roundup of U.S. Auto Sales By Brand a little differently in September. Bold means premium-badged brands. Italics indicate brands which suffered declining sales compared with the equivalent month of the prior year, in this case, September 2009. For the second consecutive month, GoodCarBadCar.net is also skipping the Top 10 lists for both mainstream brands and luxury brands (as seen in July) and including every reporting automaker in the list below.
Of note in the September 2010 edition are brands like Ford. Not only are sales way up from their post-Cash For Clunkers levels of September 2009, Ford was #1 in America. Lexus, traditionally the best-selling luxury brand in the United States, was third among luxury automakers and one of only two luxury automakers to post declining sales. Discounting Hummer, Saturn, and Pontiac, Daimler's smart minicar brand was the worst-selling brand in America. Ram and Dodge combined would be the fourth-best-selling brand in the country. (The Good Car Guy still teams the two up in Canadian sales.) And if there was a Top 10, GMC wouldn't be in it.
Arranged in order of total volume, here are the U.S. Auto Sales Stats By Brand for September 2010.
