Imagine, for a second, a really crazy scenario. Mercedes-Benz isn't a luxury car automaker, but a mainstream competitor for Honda, Toyota, and Chevrolet. The E-Class squares up against the Accord, Camry, and 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Though in reality you see the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the lower Graph as the best-selling midsize luxury car in America for July 2010, its sales figures would compare very unfavourably were the E to be found toiling against the Ford Fusion and Nissan Altima.
In fact, the purpose of sharing these two Graphs together for a change was to show the disparity between the Sales Stats of high-priced, low-volume automobiles and low-priced, high-volume cars. America's favourite midsize luxury car would only rank ninth among mainstream midsize Graph.
