Swedish supercar builder Koenigsegg will introduce the CCXR in Geneva next year. 1,018 horsepower comes at a price. 740 lb-ft of torque must be paid for dearly. Developing a car with the ability to travel from 0-100-0 in 13.7 seconds generally costs money that must be recouped in sales.
But Kristian Von Koenigsegg (a man with a vision in Horacio Pagani style) will only sell six E85-fueled, twin-supercharged V8 CCXR's. How does he plan to turn a profit? Well, pricing the car at $2,200,000 USD should help Kristian to breathe a little easier.
$2,200,000 in US currency equals: $2,201,540 Canadian, $2,485,890 Australian, €1,498,024, or ¥244,442,000. Expect prices to vary depending on the date of sale and the fact that with six cars, developing a pricing scheme for every country won't be necessary.
Koenigsegg sells its cars with five years of warranty, a GPS system, free maintenance, and a free session at driving school. Oh, by the way: if $2.2 million is overpriced, fret not. The run-of-the-mill CCX will cost just $1,960,000 and there'll be fourteen in total. Perhaps that pill is easier to swallow.
