Pontiac was the only other brand in the group in August to fall out. Last month Pontiac sold 29,921 vehicles as stockpiles of the dying company depleted. Now that said stock has found owners via bargain prices, Pontiac could only sell 11,079 vehicles last month. Check the Graph below for the detailed Sales Stats.

Subaru's brief adventure near the top of the heap in U.S. auto sales has come to an end. Although September was a successful month for Subaru (sales up 0.7%), that wasn't enough for the formerly niche Japanese automaker to remain amongst the Top 10 Best-Selling Auto Brands in America.
