FUEL ECONOMY IN CAR AND DRIVER AUGUST 2009

Ferrari's impressive new hardtop convertible, the California, barely came out on top of a two-car comparison test in Car And Driver's August issue. The Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG finished only two points back of the California thanks in no small part to the Cali's three point advantage in the "Gotta Have It" category. Elsewhere in the August issue, everything was either really fast or really electric.

-----

Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG: 13 miles per gallon
Ferrari California: 11 miles per gallon
Jaguar XFR: 15 miles per gallon
Ford Taurus Limited: 23 miles per gallon
BMW X6 xDrive50i: 15 miles per gallon
Mercedes-Benz E550 Coupe: 17 miles per gallon
