DRIVERS WANTED... FOR OLYMPIANS

"You’ll assist with scheduling, arrivals and departures of athletes, officials, and the Olympic and Paralympic Family. Some roles involve (sic) This involves driving an official vehicle (sedan or van) and you must have a valid Canadian or international drivers licence and clean driving record."

What else do you need to know?  The Vancouver 2010 Olympic organizing committee, otherwise known as VANOC, is making use of Workopolis.com to find volunteers for a variety of positions, most notably in the... ahem, transportation department.  This is GoodCarbadCar, and though the vehicles made available for Olympians in 2010 haven't yet been decided, count on GM hybrids and maybe something Korean.

So, if your age by September 1st of this year is at least 19; if you're a licensed driver in Canada or possess an international license; and if you plan on being in Van-city for a couple weeks in February of 2010, follow this link. The dropdown on the right lists the areas of necessity.

But don't drive Jeremy Wotherspoon, Cindy Klassen, Erik Guay, Sidney Crosby, Gina Kingsbury, or Charles Hamelin into the ditch.  They represent important medal hopes - so be careful.
