Luxury Auto Brand Market Share In Canada - December 2011 And 2011 Year End

Canada's three largest premium automotive brands, which just so happen to be three big Germany-based premium automotive brands, owned 54.5% of Canada's luxury automobile market in 2011.

Japanese luxury automakers, Acura and Lexus and Infiniti, together gathered up one quarter of all luxury auto purchases or leases in Canada in 2011.

Cadillac and Lincoln, America's comparatively weak bastions of luxury automobile manufacturing, brought in slightly more than one out of every ten Canadian premium auto acquisitions in 2011.

This leaves less than 10% of the market for Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover, Saab, Volvo, and ultra-exclusive brands like Bentley, Maserati, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. It should go without saying that vehicles like the Hyundai Equus and GMC Yukon Denali are rather premium and certainly premium-priced. In the two charts below, a long-established premium badge counts for more. Check out December's version, and below, the final 2011 year end results. Specific sales numbers for these brands can be found through the links at the bottom of this post.
