FUEL ECONOMY IN CAR AND DRIVER DECEMBER '09

The car which was by far the most quickest vehicle tested by Car & Driver for its December issue was also one of the more fuel efficient. Surprised? You shouldn't be. It's not what you drive but how you drive it. And Porsche's Panamera Turbo may or may not have been driven in a more genteel fashion than the Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar supersedans which returned significantly worse fuel economy.

Regardless, check out these cars in a performance context here, or scroll down for their independently tested real-world fuel economy results. Click here for results on C/D's test cars from November. And keep in mind GoodCarBadCar.net's long-term smart fortwo is averaging 37.3 miles per gallon.
